The window on the far left (only part is visable) and the door are boarded up securely. But the middle window is visably broken.
The neighborhood leaders said that the residents of this home maybe sick which makes them unable to really keep up with all of their clutter
Abandoned complex. It has been bought by an investor out of California who is actually repairing them and bringing them back up to use. Unfortunately there are no back doors to the apartments. So they will not be brought up completely with code.
Windows boarded up at the abandoned home but door left open. Fortunately, the grass has been mowed.
Look in the screened in area, lots of trash that the resident has brought in from the dump. Also note the U-Haul in the driveway.
Somewhat successfully boarded up. But note the damage done to the roof and the attic and the overgrown lot.
Bought by an investor many years ago. Although it appears from the construction garbage container that he is improving the property, the garbage trailer has been there for two years. No real work has been done on the house in those two years.
Deteriorated fence, boats, junk cars, overgrown lots, restrained dogs, outside furniture, basketball goals, and more
Although hard to see because of the screen, the front porch is pack with clutter. The neighborhood leaders have said that an elderly man lives there and his children (and grandchildren) have moved in with him. Unfortunately for the man, his children are not helping him take care of the house. Thus, even though we have only shown the front, the whole house is rather neglected.
A close up of these abandoned apartments to show the unsecured doors.
A known drug house. Also, it has been rather neglected (the door has either been taken off or left open). The yard adjacent to it has accumulated trash in the form of old basketball goals.
Unsure how long this house has been abandoned. But, as we can see, the garage door is off, the car is inoperable and appears to be parked on the grass.
The fence has been destroyed because of a fallen tree (unsure of how long it has been like this). Additionally, chain length fences in the front yard are not allowed in this neighborhood since it has become a historical neighborhood.
There are many free standing basketball goals set up around the neighborhood (like this one). The issue is that it leads to children playing near the street instead of the nice playground in the neighborhood.
This house was purchased by an investor for rental use. He has since only advertised to low income people for Section 8 Housing. Unfortunately, this has lead to high turn over (which leads to neglect of the property).
Abandoned home has its roof caving in (compare the left side of the roof to the right side to see the sagging). Also, its yard is overgrown.
This is part of the Glenview neighborhood association's beautification project; aimed at reducing litter by providing easily accessible trashcans.
